With the modern invention of the Internet, the lines between accessible and inaccessible have become more blurred than ever. The barriers between the ordinary and extraordinary have faded, and in its place, the age of connectivity has taken root.
For Fall/Winter 2016, KENZO teamed up with Portlandia creator Carrie Brownstein to explore this intriguing concept through a comedic campaign. The campaign, titled The Realest Real, stars Natasha Lyonne from Orange is the New Black, House of Cards' Mahershala Ali, The Last Five Years' Laura Harrier, Girl Meets World's Rowan Blanchard and musician Kim Gordon.
The images by photographer Mark Peckmezian perform as film posters for the campaign, illustrating the stars moving between a real office environment and into hyperreal landscapes.
The film will premiere on September 12 at New York Fashion Week, while the film's trailer can be seen below.
