Damn, Loewe is so good.

There's no doubt that Jonathan Anderson is an incredibly talented designer. Every season, he delivers some of the most interesting pieces at fashion week with Loewe, continues to reinvent the show experience for J.W. Anderson, and still manages to sneak in a collaboration here and there.

This season, Loewe has partnered with sportswear label ON for a capsule collection of running gear. At the show, Jonathan Anderson actually wore the sneakers, which are set to launch in the coming days.

But, the sneakers weren't the only shoe that caught our attention on the runway, which by the way, was filled with oversized pumpkin sculptures by Anthea Hamilton.

You may remember Anderson's Spring/Summer 2022 collection, which featured a range of unexpected items recreated into heels. Shoes saw everything from a cracked egg heel, to a nail polish bottle, and the collection ventured into a new and exciting territory of experimentation.

For Fall/Winter 2022, the experimentation continues.

This time around, the footwear is a lot more conceptual. Shoes reminiscent of the Loewe Flamingo bag in leather dominate the collection, looking like a luxury version of Ye's polarizing YEEY NSLTD boot, arriving in plenty of colors and designs, as well as shoes that have been decorated with fake waterballoons. Additionally, over-sized slippers, pumps, and structured denim boots can also be spotted throughout.

You can tell that this collection was fun to make.

Throughout the apparel, heels are hidden inside structured dresses, gowns are decked out with balloon detailing, and pieces are made out of stiff, structured material. Tops take on the shape of lips, tanks have nipples printed on top, and collars are padded to the max.

The clothes feel like a natural progression from his previously debuted SS22 chest plate dresses, with the FW22 collection acting as the next chapter in Anderson's material exploration. It is a little more abstract, a little more extreme, and a whole lot more fun.

Jonathan Anderson's clothes have always been good, but at Loewe, they're reaching a whole new level that always makes us expect the unexpected.
