Maharishi Gives Mizuno The Military Green Treatment

Editors Notes: Mizuno's on a hot streak. The Japanese label is creating GORE-TEX outdoor footwear to rival anyone else's, it just previewed its newest model, the Wave Rider Beta, which has us wondering if 2023 will be the most noteworthy in its 117 year history, and it's linked up on exclusive product with the likes of Patta and Footpatrol.
So, with all that considered, it comes as no surprise that Maharishi would want to get in on the action. Or that the final result is flawless.
The two brands have worked together on a collaborative version of Miizuno's Wave Rider 10, a model that we at Highsnobiety are so fond of we created our own (partially) see-through version at the tail end of last year.
The drop sees London-based streetwear label Maharishi doing what it does best: creating olive-green wares with intricate embroidery. The white contrasting embroidery on the side of this shoe depicts a phoenix and wraps around Mizuno's RunBird logo.
Whether it be military-inspired streetwear or hi-tech running shoes, one big thing that Miizuno and Maharishi have in common is their focus on functionality. This has naturally led to them not skimping out one bit on the fabrics with this sneaker, deploying AIRmesh on the upper alongside Trusted Path™ Program certified suede and sustainable nubuck.
All of this, naturally, sits on top of Mizuno's signature wave technology in the sole unit.
Following on from collaborations with Reebok and G.H. Bass, this shoe shows Maharishi continuing to sharpen its footwear selection and there are few better labels you can do that with at the moment than Mizuno.
