Where the runway meets the street

Today Moncler announces a brand new initiative called Moncler Genius, in which the label is partnering with various designers and brands to release multiple collaborative capsules. Moncler Genius will debut February 20, the opening night of Milan Fashion Week, with each project then being released in separate monthly installments.

To support the program, Moncler will be housing all the collabs within what they’re calling the Genius Building, a space highlighting the brand’s overall vision made tangible through products. The overall idea is to keep product at its center, function at its core, and consumer as the addressee. The Moncler Genius Building houses different cells, each one devoted to a single collaborator, all of them adding facets to the Moncler identity.

The label has in turn tapped Pierpaolo Piccioli, Karl Templer, Sandro Mandrino (Grenoble), Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Kei Ninomiya (Noir), Hiroshi Fujiwara (fragment), and Francesco Ragazzi (Palm Angels) each to participate in the initiative.

As Moncler points out, these creatives were “chosen on instinct to shape visions of uniqueness.”
