Netflix has given us a first look at what to expect in 2020, unveiling its programming roster for January.
Like every new year, it’s out with the old and in with the new. But as we bid farewell to flicks like Zombieland and American Psycho, we’ve got a lot more content to look forward to. From returning series like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, to new original films like Ghost Stories and All the Freckles in the World, we’ve rounded up the 10 movies and shows coming to Netflix in January 2020 we’re most excited about.

January 1: Ghost Stories (Netflix Film)
Are you ready for Ghost Stories? The upcoming Indian anthology horror film consists of four hair-raising short films linked to one another. Ghost Stories sees Indian filmmakers Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee, who came together for Netflix‘s Lust Stories, team up with the streaming service once again.
January 1: Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & Kill Bill: Vol. 2
Kill Bill is a classic. Quentin Tarantino’s epic action flick, follows the vengeful Bride (Uma Thurman) on her bloody quest for revenge. Netflix is adding both instalments to its roster just as Tarantino announced a third movie is joining the series.
January 1: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King & The Two Towers
One of the biggest fantasy sagas of all time, The Lord of the Rings is making its way to Netflix for a much-needed rewatch. So touch up on your Middle-earth knowledge with the first two installments of Frodo Baggins’ adventure this January.
January 1: True Grit
The Western was nominated for an impressive 10 academy awards in 2010, including Best Picture. You might know True Grit for introducing Hailee Steinfeld to the big screen. For the true movie-heads amongst us this is an essential watch.
January 16: Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs sees Michael Fassbender take on the role of the now-iconic Apple founder, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. The biographical drama directed by Danny Boyle offers an intimate look into the life and mind of one of the greatest innovators of our time.
January 17: Hip-Hop Evolution: Season 4 (Netflix Original)
The documentary series charting the birth and rise of hip-hop returns for a fourth season. Hosted by Canadian rapper and broadcaster Shad, the series profiles the history of this much-loved genre through interviews with many of its leading cultural figures. Following previous season’s chronicling hip-hop in the ’80s and ’90s, could we finally get a closer look at what went down in the 2000s?
January 18: The Bling Ring
Get your popcorn out, The Bling Ring is coming to Netflix. Sofia Coppola’s 2013 satirical crime film follows the true story of glamorous fame-obsessed teenagers robbing the rich and famous.
January 24: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3 (Netflix Original)
This highly binge-worthy adaptation of the “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” tale is back. The dark coming-of-age story traffics in horror and the occult surrounding the charming protagonist Sabrina Spellman.
January 31: Bojack Horseman: Season 6 (Part B) (Netflix Original)
It’s bizarre, it’s ridiculous, but we love it. The animated adult tragicomedy Bojack Horseman is returning for its sixth and final season.
January 31: I AM A KILLER: Season 2 (Netflix Original)
This chilling series profiles prisoners convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. In each episode, killers reveal their motivations and regrets (or lack thereof) surrounding their crimes.
