Model: Air Max 1 “Centre Pompidou” Pack
Key Features: Premium suede and tumbled leather construction, Pure Platinum pair bears contrasting piping across its upper to evoke the Centre Pompidou’s signature spatial diagram, while both models boast translucent outsoles that reveal a graphic that places an emphasis on the architectural structure, along with a “P” logo.
Release Date: TBC but some retailers are listing an August 29 release.
Editor’s Notes: Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield is honored with this latest variation of the Air Max 1, one of many silhouettes that Hatfield has designed for the Swoosh, which was introduced in 1987.
The runner’s signature Air bubble element was inspired by Hatfield’s visit to the iconic Centre Pompidou building in Paris designed by Renzo Piano, known for its deconstructed aesthetic, and the structure influences this latest rendition of the silhouette once more.
Rendered in two colorways, “Pure Platinum/Royal Blue-White,” and the other in “Wolf Grey/Black-Cool Grey,” the sneakers receive a premium makeup composed of tumbled leather and suede, while defined by the key features noted above.
