Nike's Waterproof Boot Is Like a Timberland Trek Sneaker
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a phrase every brand is familiar with. Experimenting with new things is all good and well, but the tried-and-true hero products are worth nurturing just as much. But apparently this mantra holds up across brands too, because Nike just made a boot that looks pleasantly familiar.
Though sneaker-fied, the Nike Manoa Leather boots show a resemblance to a Timberland that's uncanny... welcomely so.
The execution of merging the sports gear giant's expertise in the athleisure department with the lumberjack-y vibes of what might just be the beige boot best known to mankind is downright flawless, and a fun feat of cross-influential creativity.
This ain't a first: Nike's ACG outdoor impriny recently took similar cues, to great avail. But the stocky Manoa silhouette leans even heavier on the template, whilst also dialing up the Swoosh of it all.
With suede ankle padding and tongue patches alongside a logo that protrudes, relief-like, from the side of the boots, this Nike hiker feels both adventure-ready and fashion forward.
It comes in either black, maroon, or tan.
So, guess now all we have to to is wait for Timberland's take on, say, an Air Force 1?
