Ding, Ding, Ding: Patta x Fairtex Round Two
No sport seems off limits when it comes to a fashion infiltration nowadays. Whether it’s a pair of football boots, a cycling jersey, or even a set of pétanque boules (those Supreme ones, right?) the boundaries have disappeared – and I'm all for it.
A recent example of the unlikely crossover in action came earlier this year when Patta teamed up with Thai-based label Fairtex to tap a sport virtually untouched with fashion’s collaborative wand: muay thai.
Born out of a mutual love for the sport of boxing and the culture that surrounds it, Patta and Fairtex dropped a pair of green/cream split shorts, made with 100% micro satin and decorated with the duo’s motifs.
Three months on and they’re back for round two, this time taking things closer to Patta’s Amsterdam roots.
Available online in limited quantities now, the shorts adorn Amsterdam-centric insignia and the Lobi Libi graphics synonymous with the rest of Patta’s ideals, and crafted with the same micro-satin material as its predecessor in an “Orchid Blue/Black” colorway.
As has become the norm, Patta’s latest release comes amidst a busy 2022. Following releases with the likes of Mizuno, Mephisto, Awake NY, and Carhartt WIP already this year, rumors recently surfaced of another installment of its popular Nike Air Max series.
Bearing an ultra-white and grey colorway, this latest take on the Air Max 1 looks set to follow “Monarch”, “Noise Aqua”, “Rush Maroon”, and black iterations, and is slated to be landing in the coming months. Although ultimately it’ll be down to the raffle gods as to whether we actually cop some or not, am I right?
