A film by Adrian Mesko in association with CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC plays on the German phrase “es muss sein,” which translates as “it must be.” The film explores the line between the choices we make and our pre-determined paths.

Shot in Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook, the lo-fi short highlights the key styles of the SS18 collection, such as coats with dirt-brown rubber-stamped treatments, vibrant cowboy-style boots, and plaid tailoring.

Since taking the reigns as Chief Creative Officer at Calvin Klein, Raf Simons has been subverting the codes of contemporary American styles  — collegiate references, stars and stripes, and vintage Americana prints — for the 2018 zeitgeist.

In other style news, Abasi Rosborough draws from desert cultures at NYFWM.
