The Crocs Clog Means Business Now
For the first time, Crocs' clog has turned into a loafer.
The mind behind the dressy Frankenstein clog? Solebox. It's the brand's latest collaboration with Crocs, based on the Echo II clog.
Solebox's collaborative Crocs shoe keeps the signature sneaker-coded rippled soles, back strap, and iconic cushiness. But the upper has been completely transformed to resemble a traditional penny loafer.
The Echo II now features the standard fine leather construction and sleek hardware, plus removable tassels. It's quite literally business in the front and classic Crocs party in the back (and down below).
It's not surprising to see Crocs dish out a clog hybrid. The brand has also dabbled in trail-worthy ballet styles and Wallabee-flavored shoes. And let's not forget the boat-shoe clogs.
However, it is interesting that a loafer-clog hasn't come sooner, given brands' obsession with dressy remakes of the most iconic shoes and Crocs nailing other major crazes like gorpcore and balletcore.
Well, it's here now, thanks to Solebox.
The Solebox x Crocs Echo II clog is slated to drop on the brand's website and in its stores on September 12.
