Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman and Rooney Mara all get caught up in life's complications in the first trailer for Terrence Malick’s romantic drama Song to Song.

The trailer, which is set to the music of Del Shannon’s 1961 hit “Runaway," is comprised of quick shots of the Austin music scene and the romance between the two entangled couples. The trailer also features Gosling singing. The actor recently displayed his vocal talents and played a similar struggling musician, alongside Emma Stone, in the awards season heavyweight La La Land.

Shooting began in 2012 and will debut at SXSW this year, before opening in Los Angeles and New York on March 17.

In other entertainment news, Donald Glover has been cast as Simba in the remake of Disney's 1994 classic Lion King
