Editor’s Notes: Shortly after Stüssy unveiled its SS21 lookbook last week, sneakerheads picked up on a subtle detail that led to widespread excitement. Those with a keen eye noticed that the campaign featured the brand's 2000 collaboration with Nike, two colorways of the Air Huarache LE.

The Stüssy x Nike Air Huarache LE debuted over 20 years ago and was the first (unofficial) collaboration between the two companies. The sneakers were a project between Nike's Fraser Cooke and Stüssy UK's Michael Koppleman and were released in limited numbers at Stüssy UK chapter store.

The Huaraches subsequently sold out and became one of the hottest properties on the market, basically kickstarting the brand x retailer collaboration formula we have become so accustomed to over the years.

Today, retailers and Nike SNKRS  will be dropping its Stüssy’s Nike Air Huarache LE once again. The sneaker appears in the two familiar earth-toned colorways, featuring a nubuck and textile upper, outer cage, supportive elastic heel strap, and foam midsole with Nike Air cushioning. The collaboration is made complete with a co-branded fleece crewneck and matching sweatpants.

Nike and Stüssy have dropped multiple collaborations over the last 12 months, including two colorways of the Nike Air Force 1, Air Zoom Kukini, and Zoom Spiridon Caged 2.
