Friday brought us a sixteen-second teaser of the long-anticipated reboot of Alex Kurtzman's The Mummy, and now the first official trailer has been released, with Tom Cruise entering peak "Tom Cruise" mode.
The revamped epic looks a world removed from the original film which dropped back in 1999 thanks to some huge set pieces, including the city of London being destroyed. Cruise can then be seen making a Mission Impossible-style exit from a doomed airplane, while there's also an appearance from Russell Crowe as the famous Dr. Henry Jekyll.
The Mummy is the first release to be lifted from the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, which mirrors a literary character version of Marvel's Cinematic World. Dracula, Frankenstein, and Van Helsing are but a few of the characters rumored to be featuring in upcoming films.
