Ruben Fleischer's Venom isn't due in theaters until October, but this week we've been blessed with an early glimpse at the much-anticipated feature. IGN has in turn shared an exclusive first look at Tom Hardy as lead character, reporter Eddie Brock.

In addition to the photo, IGN has also unleashed footage from December's Brazil Comic Con Experience, which was previously only available to those in attendance. The clip highlights Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer awarding with a taste of the movie, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the set.

"We want to be as true as possible to the comic with our film," Fleischer insisted. "But our story is primarily based on the Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiotes book."

Venom: Lethal Protector was a six-episode series that saw Venom transition from a Spider-Man villain to a Marvel Comics anti-hero, while Planet of the Symbiotes then dove into Eddie Brock's relationship with his symbiote, including its notable influence.

When it came time for Hardy to speak during the panel, the actor confidently noted, "I just wanted to say that I give you my word of honor that I’m going to do everything that I can to deliver the best Venom that I possibly can muster."

Again, Venom is slated to premiere October 5, as it pits Hardy alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed and Jenny Slate.
