Having already played one iconic villain, Bane, in DC's Batman franchise, Tom Hardy is taking another villainous turn — this time as Venom in an expansion of Marvel's Spider-Man world which is undergoing a reboot this summer.

With Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer at the helm, Hardy steps into the role of Eddie Brock which was previously occupied by Topher Grace in 2007's Spider-Man 3.

While little is known about plot details, Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, the latter of whom worked on 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, wrote the current draft of the Venom script.

Barring any major setbacks, Venom will open October 5, 2018.
