Norwegian visual artist Andreas Lie combines photographs of animals with images of verdant landscapes in this series of superimposed portraits likely to adorn the wood-paneled walls of a ’70s-designed Midwestern motel room. Snowy mountain peaks and thick forests meld into the shaggy fur of wolves and foxes, and even the northern lights appear through the silhouette of a polar bear. A resident of the mountainous city of Bergen, Norway, it goes without saying that Lie’s art greatly reflects the picturesque nature of his surroundings.
