It was only a matter of time before Charlotte Tilbury, makeup mogul and artist to the stars, made her mark on fragrance.

"Since I was a teenager, I have always been fascinated by the magical ability of fragrance to unlock my memories and emotions," she tells Highsnobiety. "I’ve always believed that fragrance holds the same transformative, confidence-boosting power as skincare and makeup."

On May 30, Tilbury — who founded her eponymous makeup brand in 2013 and has since built an empire on her approachable yet glamorous products — will launch six fragrances that she describes as "invisible superpowers."

Crafted in collaboration with International Fragrance and Flavors (IFF), each fragrance is intended to influence its wearer's mood. Over the past 40 years, IFF has studied "scent emotion," how different fragrance notes affect the unconscious. The resulting data serve as the building blocks of Tilbury's inaugural perfume collection.

Dubbed Collection of Emotions, the range bottles six feelings: Magic Energy (bergamot and palo santo), Joyphoria (jasmine and vanilla), Cosmic Power (cinnamon and frankincense), Love Frequency (rose and pink pepper), More Sex (black pepper and musk), and Calm Bliss (neroli and lavender).

The perfumes — each of which retail for $150 and boast a "18-hour scent trail," according to Tilbury — can be worn individually or layered, depending on the wearer's desired mood.

Tilbury herself tends to start the day with Magic Energy for a caffeine-free boost. Later, she spritzes on Cosmic Power to help her tackle work. "Joyphoria is perfect when it's dark and rainy in London," she adds. At night, Calm Bliss helps her wind down — usually, she'll spray it on her pillows. "I've literally had journalists telling me it changes the way they sleep."

This isn't Tilbury's first foray into fragrance. In 2016, she released Scent of a Dream, a limited-edition offering that sold out in a flash. Something tells us her latest olfactory outing will be just as big a hit.
