When he’s not directing Oscar-winning movies or building VICE‘s very own TV channel from the ground up, Spike Jonze devotes some of his time towards his skateboard company, Girl Skateboards.
The latest offering from GSC is a series of skateboard decks emblazoned with some of Spike’s photographs. What you might not be aware of is that before he became a titan of popular culture, Spike made his name photographing BMX teams in the late ’80s. Now, you can see and even own some of his early snaps, which have been printed onto these decks.
The celebrity-driven “Photos By Spike” board series features the images of numerous music icons, such as Sonic Youth, The Beastie Boys, Bjork, Nirvana and Karen O.
All five decks go on sale March 7 at skateboard shops world wide.
