Moleskine have just released a new product which could finally be the solution to one of working life’s biggest frustrations: backing up handwritten notes electronically.

After years spent trying to digitize the scribbles jotted in their iconic notebooks, the “Smart Writing Set” will use a special notebook, a dedicated app, and a Bluetooth pen to transfer anything you write instantly to your smartphone or tablet.

It works using tiny positional markers printed on the paper, which are then read by an in-built camera inside the pen. So without having to press any buttons or use fiddly styluses, it knows exactly what you’re drawing on the page. It’s the most seamless pen-to-digital experience we’ve seen yet.

The set can be purchased for $199. Read more about it here and watch the promo video below.

Also be sure to check out the Ink Hunter app, which lets you preview your next tattoo through AR.
