Yesterday, famed producer Chad Hugo took to Twitter to announce his retirement from music.

“I resign from the music business. Thanks again, people, for your support throughout all these years. Good luck/God bless!,” the 43-year-old artist stated in a since-deleted tweet, as his Twitter account has also been deactivated.

Following said tweet — and its deletion — a rep for Hugo has “clarified” the musician’s comments, insisting it was a “bad joke.”

So, is it a wrap for Chad or not? Only time will tell. But regardless, if any new information surrounding the rumor surfaces, we’ll be sure to update the post.

Hugo is best known for being one-half of music production and writing duo The Neptunes, alongside Pharrell, and a member of N.E.R.D. Throughout his decorated career he has worked with a number of iconic musicians including Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Usher, Snoop Dogg and Mariah Carey, among others.
