Today adidas launches its 747 Warehouse experience for the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. The massive space sits in the parking lot and warehouse that formerly housed American Apparel’s LA factory.
For two days, attendees will be able to cop exclusive kicks; watch a celebrity game pitting 2 Chainz and Snoop Dogg’s rapper-studded teams against each other; take in performances from N.E.R.D., 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi, Carti, Pusha T, and more; and enter immersive space bringing you into the ethos of adidas’ products. It all feels like a music festival, with the central theme being “ball is life.” We’ve got the exclusive first look with all the photos and information you need.
747 Warehouse St.
The heart of the weekend is the warehouse, an immersive experience with installations for Parley, Y-3, James Harden, and more. Attendees will be able to see how Futurecraft is made and witness machines build Speedfactory AM4s on the spot. There are also several basketball hoops and photo opps, as well as a test center to show off your athleticism. Throughout the process you’ll also be able to enter raffles for exclusive kicks, a process we’ll reveal more in-depth below.
How To Cop
Of course, you’re gonna want to cop some product. The grounds are covered with scanners that’ll allow you to enter raffles for your most coveted and exclusive kicks. The All-Star releases are stacked, giving you a chance to buy kicks including the AW Bball AS, Futurecraft 4D and 4D 2.0, UltraBoost Mid Parley, Harden Vol. 2, Y-3 BYW Bball, Dame 4 Bape, and three varieties of the Speedfactory AM4. To enter the raffles, all you need is the very wristband that gained you entry. Simply scan your wristband at the scanners for whichever kicks you so desire. If you win, you’ll be able to purchase your shoe at a separate pick-up point. No fights, no drama, no hassle.
The outdoor grands have a grip of installations, including the Pharrell Hu Court that’ll house 2 Chainz and Snoop Dogg’s basketball game Friday and a local high school skills contest Saturday, a marble court for Alexander Wang, and plenty of spots to pick up food and drink. The Sound Lab will also give local musicians the chance to spend 15 minutes to demo their tracks for artists including Pusha T, A-Trak, DMC, and more. There’s also a huge stage that’ll feature performances from 21 Savage, Andre Power of Soulection, A-Trak, Cozy Boys, French Montana, Kaytranada, Kitty Kash, Lil Uzi Vert, Big Shaq, Mike Will, N.E.R.D., Playboi Carti, Pusha T, Rich the Kid, Stormzy, and possible surprise guests.
Brooklyn Creator Farm Pop-Up
Select attendees will be able to work with the team out of BK to customize their own pair of kicks from the sole up. This isn’t just slapping on patches or dipping into paint. Your shoe will be put together on the spot, with choices including the BYW and 4D Futurecraft silhouettes.
