During our visit to the adidas mothership in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany, were we given the opportunity to snoop around the office buildings, and we documented it all for you in our latest Highsnobiety Visits. The campus-style offices feature many more facilities than your usual office space, boasting a fitness center, climbing wall, basketball, football, and even a volleyball court on site.
Buried deep in the bowels of the main office building is the adidas Archive, which has a vast collection of over 3,000 vintage and historical pieces from adidas’s days gone by. The collection chronicles adidas’s legacy and includes pieces such as the first-ever Superstar 80s and Stan Smith, or “Robert Haillet” as it was known in its first incarnation, as well as the ’92 release that inspired the Tubular. The archive not only spans footwear but features a vast collection of apparel and accessories, all of which are preserved in a controlled temperature environment in order to preserve the pieces for visits from sneaker royalty and adidas designers.
Take a look into the sprawling space above and stay tuned for more stories straight from Herzo.
