Editor’s Notes: Following the recently reissued ZX 5000, 6000, 7000 and 9000 models earlier this year, adidas Consortium continues its celebration of the Torsion System technology. The latest offering is faithful to the original model however this version of the ZX8000 has been done up in faded tones, giving the shoe a worn-in, aged effect.

The ZX 8000 first appeared in 1989. It was a favorite with runners thanks to its lightweight feel, backed up by a padded tongue and reinforcements to critical strike zones. The new iteration is done up in an aqua blue colorway, punctuated by bright dashes of yellow and a subtle purple. The most striking updates to the shoe are the new lace jewel and insole which feature special ’30 years of Torsion’ branding.

You can look forward to the ZX 8000 OG launching November 16.

On this week’s episode of The Dropcast, we are joined by DMV’s IDK who recently dropped his debut album Is He Real? featuring a slew of big hip-hop names.
