After multiple rumors and early sneaker leaks, sportswear giant adidas has finally confirmed via a press release, its official partnership with Toei Animation's Dragon Ball Z.

For the adidas Originals x Dragon Ball Z collaboration, three battles from the Japanese anime series have been reimagined in sneaker form, with seven silhouettes available in total — a sneaker to represent each of the heroes and villains who fought in the battles, plus a kick inspired by Shenron the Dragon.

The three battles depicted in the drop are as follows: Son Goku vs. Frieza, represented by a new ZX 500 RM and Yung-1 sneaker respectively; Son Gohan vs. Cell, in the shape of a Deerupt and Prophere; and Vegeta vs. Majin Buu, who get an Ultra Tech and Kamanda. The Shenron the Dragon-inspired EQT Support Mid ADV PK rounds off a capsule that's got us blasting Kamehameha around the office in anticipation.

Each battle set of kicks — hero and villain — will drop on a monthly basis from September to December. The shoes will come in special Dragon Ball Z packaging, with each box coming together to form one large single design — a nod to the tapestry-style images deployed on OG Dragon Ball magazines. No word on official dates or images yet, but we'll keep you updated as and when news drops.

In case you missed it, here are six reasons why we're excited about the adidas x 'Dragon Ball Z' drop.
