Editor’s Notes: adidas recently unveiled its “Never Made” collection of hybrid sneakers at Hypefest in New York. The theme of the pack is the coming together of the past and present, which is instantly evident when looking at the silhouettes.

Uppers from retro adidas kicks are placed on modern tooling featuring the brand’s popular Boost and revolutionary 4D carbon-printed midsoles. Each of the eight distinct silhouettes was taken from internal design workshops, which saw adidas Originals designers try to revive past models by adding a modern twist.

The pack is split into three series: the ’70s-inspired “Line of Descent,” the ’80s-influenced “Genealogy of NMD,” and the “Genetically Modified ’90s Tech” series.

The “Line of Descent” series includes the 4D Futurecraft-equipped I x 4D, taken from the I-5923, as well as the Country x Kamada and Marathon x 5923 silhouettes. The “Genealogy of NMD” series is made up of the Micropacer x R1, Boston Super x R1, and Rising Star x R1. Finally, the “Genetically Modified ’90s Tech” pack comprises the 98 x Crazy BYW and the ZX930 x EQT.

The “Never Made” collection drops globally on October 17. For more info check out the link below.
