The 2020 Met Gala should have taken place yesterday and Brie Larson was one of the many celebs sharing tributes and throwback pics commemorating the event. Yet rather than posting a red carpet fit, Larson opted to explain how she wound up in one of the most extra group bathroom selfies of all time.

The picture was taken by Kylie Jenner in 2017 and finds Larson squashed next to some of the biggest names in the game, including Kim Kardashian, Diddy, A$AP Rocky, Kendall Jenner, Luka Sabbat, and Ashton Sanders. From the look on the Captain Marvel actor's face, she couldn't quite believe she'd ended up there, either.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Larson explained how she found herself in the middle of the pic — an explanation that doubled up as a Covid-19 PSA. “Seems like we’re having a #MetBall throwback moment today so I’d to take this time to remind everyone of the year I was trying to wash my hands in the bathroom and ended up in a Kardashian selfie.”
