Legendary rappers and music moguls JAY-Z and Diddy have been friends for quite a while, and on the latest episode of Apple Music’s OVO Sound Radio on Saturday, July 22, Diddy paid homage to HOV’s new music.

Not only did Diddy call JAY-Z’s latest full-length 4:44 album of the year, he also said it’s his best album yet. “This JAY-Z album is JAY-Z’s best album,” he explained. “As an artist, you have a responsibility to grow. JAY-Z has inspired me, I inspire people, we all inspire each other. This album is not just an album. 4:44 is necessary. It’s not just an album. It’s a change of thinking. It’s a change in the way we think. We gotta support our own brand. We gotta support each other.”

On 4:44 track “Family Feud” JAY-Z professes his respect for Diddy, “What’s better than one billionaire? Two / Especially when they’re the same hue as you / I’ll be damned if I drink some Belvedere while Puff got CÎROC / Y’all need to stop,” raps HOV.

We push each other… We inspire each other… #BlackExcellence
