JanSport needs no introduction. The OG of the backpack game can have some people waxing nostalgic over its reputation as a must-have fashion accessory during the early ‘90s, and its new Carbon Collection, built for more modern times, is no different.

The versatile Carbon Collection features four styles designed for the city dweller looking to seamlessly blend into metropolitan life while being able to pack everything they need at a moment’s notice.

Consisting of the spacious Axiom backpack, Hatchet DL rucksack, Super FX DL pack, and the Duffel DL for those longer trips, there’s a perfectly sized bag for everyone.

But don’t take our word for it, just ask Chicago photographer and civil engineer Andrew Glatt, who more than likely is carrying a full load of camera equipment at any given time whenever he’s not at his dayjob.

Glatt’s hobby-turned-passion for photography has brought him to all corners of the Windy City in search of interesting people and subjects to capture. And this, like most photographers, is something that can pose an issue: being able to carry everything you need securely and stylishly. “I shoot with a Nikon D750 and I carry that thing with me everywhere I go. Too many times I left it at home and regretted it,” Glatt admits.

“I need a bag with a lot of room—between a camera body, additional lens, swell bottle (hydration is key), and laptop for unplanned editing sessions—there’s a lot to fit,” explains Glatt. “I’m a big fan of bags with one large compartment, which makes the Axiom my go-to.”

The Carbon Collection’s decidedly modern aesthetic is another key selling point. Each bag is constructed with a sleek geometric weave creating a unique textured look that’s equally modern as it is classy.

Check out the beautiful city of Chicago through Glatt’s lens by heading to his website, and peep the Carbon Collection now over at Alumni of NY.
