Our Legacy

Brand: Our Legacy

Season: SS20

Key Pieces: There's a classic-artisanal Our Legacy-style print in the gently rumpled short-sleeve shirt in slide #1.

Release Date: August 7

Editor’s Notes: Our Legacy's in-house artist Hank Grüner has developed a new series of prints for a summer capsule of T-shirts, short-sleeve button-downs, and NBA-style jerseys hinging around the theme of the human hand.

The pieces are made with various screen printing, digital printing and embroidery techniques and pull inspiration from Man Ray's photography of hands as well as a selection of classic album covers.

"Cristopher [Nying] presented this idea to me little over a year ago and I have been drawing hands in different shapes and forms with different mediums ever since" says Grüner, "The Bupkus Hand, for example, is drawn with Uni Posca Markers whilst the Mantis Print is painted with brushes. Just as basketball, which has been central in my life, drawing and painting is centered around the ability to perform with your hand without ever looking at it - it is a rhythm.”
