Louis Vuitton once again positions itself alongside LA-based artist Alex Israel, this time for a new FW19 collaboration showcasing Israel’s vibrant pop aesthetic. Consisting of eight pieces, the collection includes scarves, shawls, blankets, and a bandeau.
Israel’s silk scarves, which are cut from a technically innovative quilting technique, are a nod to his Wave paintings. On one side you will find a padded recreation of the artist’s Wave paintings, while the other highlights Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram pattern. The collaborative scarves are offered in four color combinations across three sizes.
Next, the Sky Backdrop Monogram shawls are made from a silk and cashmere blend. Optioned in two colorways, the garment showcases Israel’s Sky Backdrop paintings.
The final piece from the FW19 collection is the double-sided Desperado bandeau, featuring a ludic desert scene with cacti and cars, pulling from the artist’s 2015 bronze sculpture, Desperado. The piece also includes a sky backdrop overprinted with LV monogram.
Following yesterday’s reveal in Los Angeles, Louis Vuitton and Alex Israel’s FW19 collection is now available at select outlets.
