How would you like for your tastefully semi-industrial living room to open up to the sidewalk?

This Townhouse in Saigon, Vietnam uses oversized wooden shutters that act as a garage door to do exactly that. In Vietnam this style of home is called a “shophouse.” Such structures were originally found in homes that conducted business on the first floor.

If the public life isn’t for you, the doors can remain closed for a warm, homey environment. We like how the raw concrete and brick gives off an industrial vibe while white painted walls and contemporary furnishings level out the space.

We could definitely live with this.
