Editor’s Notes: Nike has just unveiled what it's calling “Jordan’s most revolutionary shoe.” The 33rd in a long line of performance basketball shoes, the Nike Air Jordan XXXIII takes the Jumpman's “flight” theme to the next level.

FastFit technology, which acts as a laceless tightening system and looks like something from a futuristic sci-fi movie, makes its debut on the silhouette.

“From day one, we’ve taken pride in the Air Jordan game shoe, where we focus on athlete insights and the latest innovations to create silhouettes that are distinctly Jordan," says His Airness Michael Jordan himself in a press release. "That balance also allows the game shoe to continually revolutionize both in sport and style.”

Whereas the 31st and 32nd Air Jordans were modeled after the Air Jordan I and II of the ’80s, the XXXIII strays from that pattern for a much more modern, streamlined design.
