Editor’s Notes: With hybrid variations already on the market, consisting of the Nike VaporMax Plus and Nike VaporMax 97, sneaker connoisseur Seth Hematch reveals that the Swoosh was working on hybrids many years earlier, as he showcased a mashup of the classic Nike Air Flow mixed with the 1980 Nike Air Mariah silhouette, which was crafted in 1987.
The hybrid model essentially utilizes the Air Flow's signature color block upper and outfitted with the Air Mariah's sleeker two-tone tooling, adding a more contemporary update to its overall aesthetic.
