What We’re Saying: Nike SB is celebrating its longstanding partnership with Paul Rodriguez by issuing a special colorway of the Dunk Low. Courtesy of on-foot images shared by @yankeekicks — and more recently, official product photos — we see the ever-popular silhouette has been given the Swoosh's famed "What The" treatment, blending design elements from Rodriguez's extensive sneaker line with the brand.

In familiar "What The" fashion, the Dunk Low "What The Paul" showcases a mismatched scheme, incorporating details from some of the skateboarder's signature Nike silhouettes and subsequent collaborations. The P-Rod 1 “Mexican Blanket” is referenced on one of the shoes, for example, while the other is a nod to the P-Rod 1 “Stash.” The Dunks also include elephant print accents that point to the Air Jordan 1-inspired P-Rod 1 “J-Rod.”

Paul Rodriguez signed with Nike SB in 2005 and has gone on to release a slew of signature shoes with the brand, in addition to collaborations on the likes of the Dunk, leaving the Swoosh with more than enough designs to carry over to the "What The Paul." You'll have a chance to land the commemorative kicks when they release through Nike SNKRS on May 24. In the meantime, check out some of the best Dunks to arrive this year.
