Sneaker customizations have become an art in themselves recently. Customizers growing more and more accomplished alongside a rampant collaboration culture amongst the top brands means that nowadays, it can be almost impossible to tell the difference between an official limited-edition pair and a custom pair. One of the best examples of this is PHILLLLLTHY, whose unique custom sneakers have made a big impact on the scene.

PHILLLLLTHY is known for two major aesthetics. One is his use of Japanese mending techniques that offer a patchwork, DIY finish, which goes hand in hand with his second signature: aging. The popularity of the aged aesthetic has rocketed over recent seasons, and PHILLLLLTHY has surfed the wave, posting meticulously aged sneaker after sneaker.

One of PHILLLLLTHY’s most popular designs was the NMD S1. As one of the first influencers to debut the silhouette, he received a lot of attention on Instagram for his dip-dyed, aged adidas NMD S1. In fact, the design was so popular that Luisaviaroma is putting the silhouette back in Phil’s hands for another round.

Using his signature techniques, PHILLLLLTHY will redesign the adidas NMD S1 for FW22, bringing a new, refreshing take on the trail-inspired silhouette. Expect dip-dyed indigo and shredded uppers on a dystopian, Japanese-style tip.

Be sure to get a closer look at the PHILLLLLTHY adidas NMD S1 in the lookbook above and prepare to cop a pair exclusively at Luisaviaroma on November 30.
