They say good things take time, and it's been a long enough wait for Post Archive Faction (PAF) and On Running's beautifully chunky running sneaker team-up. Anxious fans begging for the drop date would agree.

Even when next to Post Archive Faction's artful pieces, the LVMH Prize-nominated brand's On Cloudmonster 2 sneaker collab grabbed attention almost instantly. I mean, how could you miss that unmistakable cushy sole (also On's biggest CloudTec base ever)?

PAF takes a quiet approach to re-designing the Cloudmonster 2 sneaker by minimizing traditional branding moments and allowing the sneaker's famously comfortable features to shine. The South Korean label then wraps the chunky running sneaker in soothing neutral tones similar to the hues dressing PAF's famed technical puffers and warped jackets.

PAF's Cloudmonster 2 shoe also plays with asymmetry, evidenced with the curving lines of its stretchy, meshy upper and even the slanted shoe lace setup. Although quite eye-catching in appearance, there is a method to the madness: these bending details mimic the curves of Switzerland's Lake Zurich and also nod to On Running's humble beginnings in the Alps.

After several teases and previews, PAF's Cloudmonster 2 sneaker is now here (well, sort of). The stylish beast of a collaboration hit Nordstrom recently, selling out in the same breather. No surprises there — there's been lots of a buzz around the team-up since its debut in June 2023 during a Paris Fashion Week showroom.

It is arguably the most fashion-forward On sneaker to date, y'know (sorry, LOEWE).

Details regarding the further release of PAF's Cloudmonster 2 sneakers are largely under wraps. But with the fashionable monstrous sequel sneaker shock-dropping at ordinary On Running retailers like Nordstrom, something tells me that the collab's bigger launch is near.

So, have your $240 — that's the sneaker's retail price — and those typing fingers ready for more potential surprise drops.
