Editor’s Notes: After Frankenstein-ing its DRKSTAR Chuck 70s, Rick Owens is back morphing Converse's classic sneakers with a new DRKSHDW TURBOWPN drop.

Following an August 2021 release, Rick Owens decides it's not done with its beefy platformed TURBOWPN model, opting for a monochromatic approach with its latest "Clay" and "Egret" colorways.

New color options aside, the collaboration's maximal minimalism (or minimalist maximalism?) vibe of the Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBOWPN remains the same.

The TURBOWPN still carries that same top-notch cowhide leather upper resting upon a double-cheeked-up platform sole – design details which directly nod to Converse's historical Weapon basketball shoes and remind you of Rick Owens' Geobaskets.

Then, what's a Rick Owens x Converse sneaker collab without some tongue action? Well, sneaker tongues action, that is.

Like its DRKSTAR Chucks, you can count on Rick Owens' signature elongated shoe tongues appearing on the latest collaborative sneakers. Thanks to Converse's CX foam, the TURBOWPN's tongues come packed with comfort and a slightly puffy new look.

Then, of course, no Ricks Owens x Converse collaboration is just sneakers. The partnership's usual suspects of baseball caps and drawstring backpacks also found their way into the TURBOWPN's second rollout (because why not?).

It's never a dull moment from the brand that pumped Aesop-scented fog on its Fall/Winter 2022 runway, so you can't help but appreciate its mad scientist spins on the timeless Converse sneakers.

The Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBOWPN clearly isn't your dad's hooping sneakers from the 80s. Nah, baby, they've been Rick-ified for the better.
