Samsung has already unveiled plans for a foldable screen for its yet-to-be-released Galaxy X, but now it looks like the tech company could be about to go one step further.

At the SID tech conference in LA yesterday, Samsung debuted a flexible screen that can roll, bend and stretch before snapping back to its original position — a lot like a trampoline does.

According to OLEDnet (Korean), Samsung says the stretchable OLED screen is based on Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) display technology, which helps with deforming the necessary pixels for stretching.

The 9.1-inch OLED display is currently just a prototype, but its predicted the technology could be used for future Samsung phones, wearables, cars and even robots. Stay tuned for more information on this one.
