Sneakers
From the ground up

Louis Vuitton has shared clips via its Instagram highlights of what are assumed to be Virgil Abloh’s first sneaker designs for the fashion house. In addition to the sneakers, the clips show some of the new creative director’s other creations, including bags and apparel.

The sneak peek doesn’t reveal much but, from what we can see, the sneakers look to be influenced by a familiar silhouette: the Nike Air Jordan III. The mid-top design features the LV monogram and iconic floral pattern on the heel of the midsole, while the upper construction has strong hints of Michael Jordan’s third signature sneaker.

Abloh himself describes the design as “what I think […] is a classic sneaker,” adding that he wants to “make it feel more rich” by adding touches of gold or porcelain.

The clothing is only visible for a short time, but we can see plenty of graphic tees and oversized coats — an Abloh signature.

Head to Louis Vuitton’s Instagram here to check out the highlights and get a closer look at the rest of the designs.
