Designer: Y-3

Location: Paris, France

Season: Spring/Summer 2018

Key Pieces: Oversized track pants mesh well with rumpled windbreakers, but the abundant back graphic tees and jackets are sure to appeal to today's logo-maniacal fashion consumers. Slouchy tailored topcoats and elongated shirting infuse sartorial tropes with a sporty sensibility. Sneakerheads will surely rejoice at the new adidas models that debuted, including a Y-3 Futurecraft.

Editor’s Notes: With a runway designed after a Yohji Yamamoto-themed basketball court, the theme of sport loomed large over Y-3's Spring/Summer 2018 collection. But perhaps the same could be said about street style in general these days. As corny buzzwords like "athleisure" gain steam in the minds of marketers eager to appeal to a youth audience, what's on the sidewalks has come to inform what's on the catwalks.

Indeed, one of the most prominent graphics in Yamomoto's latest go-round with adidas (which is celebrating its 15th year of collaboration), features the phrases "Uniform of the streets in Paris" and "Absolute street uniformity insured." So then, it would make sense that a lot of the gear seemed apropos for both fans and would-be players on team Yohji. But no team uniform is ever complete without the right set of kicks, and this season's runway offered plenty. There were new takes on the Superstar, and models featuring adidas's Primeknit and Boost technologies.
