ZEGNA is gearing up for Milan Fashion Week with a sneaker that brings together conceptual craftsmanship and CONCEPTKICKS founder Daniel Bailey — yep, you heard that right.

The Italian brand’s popular Triple Stitch sneaker that hit the runway recently has since garnered a lot of attention, and this new iteration is the start of a very exciting collaboration for the ZEGNA house. Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori joined forces with Daniel Bailey of MRBAILEY, combining ZEGNA’s heritage with a new type of progressive practicality, taking luxury leisurewear to the streets. MRBAILEY is known to move the needle in footwear innovation, and this collab is no different.

Collaborating with Sartori and ZEGNA’s highly skilled team of craftsmen was a rare opportunity for me to design and be inspired in real-time. It was a true balance of contemporary product engineering and traditional luxury sentiment. What made this collaboration unique was having access to ZEGNA’s family-owned manufacturing facilities - a playground for any designer. This allowed us to experiment with different types of constructions, ultimately landing on the idea of re-contextualizing leather-crafted footwear for the luxury market,”  said Bailey.

ZEGNA’s signature Vicuña colorway is paired with layers of suede and leather in black, white and grey, but finished with a carbonized-inspired look that draws from yakisugi, a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. Of course, the sneaker has some leveled-up specs, from the triple-cross detailing and mesh lining to a toggled cord and removable insole — because what would a ZEGNA shoe be if not ready for exploring the outdoors?

To put this to the test, we caught up with Bloody Osiris and Seidai to find out how they’d style the sneaker and where they’d take it.

Talk us through your outfit! What was your inspiration, and how did you put it together?

What inspired my outfit is the Berlin rave scene and parties at Berghain, and then this is a suit I made for my brand called Murd333r.FM

Name three places you’d wear the sneaker.

I would wear these sneakers grocery shopping, on the moon, and in my old neighborhood, where I feel the most comfortable.

What are the three words you feel best describe the Zegna DNA?

Comfort, individuality, and endurance.

Why do you think Zegna continues to resonate with audiences today?

I think it’s a rebirth of new fans of the brand with new energy — it’s a cycle.

Talk us through your outfit! What was your inspiration, and how did you put it together?

I got inspiration from nature! The color of the shoes remind me of dried ground, and the texture reminds me of ancient times with dinosaur. I put a spectrum of brown colors together and I filmed in nature.

Name three places you’d wear the sneaker.

Oasi Zegna, Italy, Norikura  Kogen, Japan, my hometown, Hiroshima — any place full of nature!

What are the three words you feel best describe the Zegna DNA?

Soft, natural, and comfortable

Why do you think Zegna continues to resonate with audiences today?

Everything changes fast these days, but Zegna’s timeless designs appeal to audiences. Also, their products are made of great materials, I can feel that they cherish the relationship between creation and people.

What is your favorite Zegna piece you own, besides these sneakers

A wool coat in ivory.

The Triple Stitch MRBAILEY will be available here and in select ZEGNA stores.
