Hong Kong’s pioneering Clockenflap Festival took place for the ninth consecutive year on the weekend.
Since its establishment back in 2008, the three-day festival has been credited with playing a vital role in nurturing the music and wider arts scene throughout Hong Kong. Set along the idyllic Central Harbourfront, this year’s edition played host to a galaxy of internationally renowned names including BADBADNOTGOOD, Sigur Rós, Yuna, Hyukoh, London Grammar, Blood Orange, M.I.A., Crystal Castles, Sekai No Owari, SBTRKT and the Chemical Brothers, among many more.
Away from music, Clockenflappers were also able to content themselves at a series of workshops and art installations, as well as a musical theatre and a craft market. When it came to depth of choice, this was a festival that made sure it packed something for everybody.
If you missed out, then take some consolation in the fact that we were on-hand to document the happenings with the images above. And remember, there’s always next year.
Staying with festivals, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Radiohead are reportedly headlining next year’s Coachella.
