Where form meets function

French startup Joué has unleashed a new Kickstarter campaign for its modular MIDI controller. Joué is designed for beginners and professionals alike, as it plays to mimic keys, guitar strings, drums pads or 3D control objects, offering an infinite playground for musicians.

The device notes construction from wood and metal, and it is equipped with a pressure sensitive sensor on which magic modules are placed. These modules are made of soft and elastic silicone that transmits every single pressure variation to the sensor.

While performing, you can change modules at will by taking advantage of three designated slots which have been preconfigured.

In terms of software, virtually every MIDI-compliant program works with Joué, allowing you to access Ableton Live, Apple Logic, Native Instruments plugins, Max/MSP or any iPad apps from GarageBand to the last iSynth.

You can also connect the controller to your hardware of choice using a USB to MIDI converter.
