Few things say 'good times' like old school yacht rock. You know, the hilariously overwrought-genre with an aesthetic that screams Kenny Loggins with a beard and aviators saving women or Michael McDonald with a beard and a Hawaiian shirt getting to know a woman's softer side. Thundercat clearly knows the value of this aesthetic, which is why he has called both artists directly for an assist on "Show You the Way," the lead single from his just-announced album Drunk. Though it may seem like some absurdly far-fetched joke or transmission from another dimension, Thundercat's new single featuring the kings of yacht rock is actually pretty amazing. Both of his guests manage to downplay their overblown tendencies and mesh seamlessly with the elastic grooves of Thundercat's bass.

And those two are just the beginning. The other featured artists that will be heard on Drunk include frequent-collaborator Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell and Wiz Khalifa. It is set to drop on February 24, stay tuned for more info.

In related music news, Father John Misty has also announced a new album. Pure Comedy, his third full length, has been revealed via a 25-minute short film. Watch it right here.
