If you’ve even remotely been sleeping on Atlanta-based collective Awful Records then it’s time to wake up and stay woke like Donald Glover. The 15-deep crew, lead by fellow musican, Father, has stealthily been gaining ground and racking up fans ranging from Drake to Makonnen, and a bevy of major label executives.

The label’s roster very much represents Atlanta’s thriving underground creative scene, housing future-facing artists like Abra and Tommy Genesis whose subversive sounds could only have matured in the birthplace of legends like Goodie Mob and Outcast. Basically, Awful is poised for an explosive 2017.

Despite 2016 being the year of L’s for many, the crew closed out strong with a massive Redbull supported group show in London in October. They also churned out several well-received projects and features throughout the year. Additionally, Awful’s lone singer, Abra, also confirmed that she’d be appearing in her first feature film.

The new year has brought other new opportunities too: Awful launched its first-ever website complete with a run of dedicated merchandise. Take an exclusive peek at the new site here and check the merch look book above – it was shot by EatHumans and David Widart. It also features some very familiar faces from the label.
