Developers will gather for Apple’s annual WWDC conference in a few weeks time, and it’s rumored that a new iPad Pro and a mysterious touchscreen Siri will both be officially unveiled at the event.
The news arrives courtesy of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is widely regarded as one of the most reliable sources for Apple and other tech leaks. Kuo claims there is a 70 percent chance of seeing the long-rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which will bear similarities to the current 9.7-inch model but with a larger display thanks to smaller bezels, next month. The expert said:
“The newly designed 10.5” iPad Pro will have a similar form factor to the 9.7” model, but will feature a larger display thanks to narrow bezels. The new design should improve the user experience and help gain traction in the corporate/ commercial sectors.”
In addition, Kuo posited that there’s more than a 50 percent chance of Apple debuting its new Siri smart speaker. The hardware has been flagged as a challenger to Amazon’s Echo device, and could also come equipped with a touchscreen display.
On the software front, expect to see previews of iOS 11, macOS 10.13, tvOS 11, and watchOS 4.
Stay posted for further news from the WWDC extravaganza in the coming weeks.
