Popular 1990s cartoon series Animaniacs is in the works for a reboot, and reportedly with the help of original creator Steven Spielberg, according to IndieWire.

In conjunction with Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Television, an American film and television production company founded by Steven Spielberg — the new version is perfectly timed as it recently gained popularity on Netflix.

Animaniacs ran for 99 episodes from 1993 to 1995 on Fox Kids, before moving to Kids’ WB from 1995 to 1998. The original series featured a variety of different segments and characters such as the Warner siblings Yakko, Wakoo and Dot, as well as Pinky and the Brain. The original voice cast included Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche and Sherri Stoner.

Still to be early in development with no network attached to the program yet, Warner Bros. also declined to comment about the reported reboot.
