adidas is celebrating 30 years of Torsion System technology by bringing back four sneakers that first made the heralded ZX series popular: the ZX 5000, ZX 6000, ZX 7000, and ZX 9000. For reference, Torsion System debuted in the ZX range three decades ago.
Each of the four original ZX models were designed to cater to different running requirements. For SS19, the ZX 5000, ZX 6000, ZX 7000, and ZX 9000 remain true to these characteristics, all while boasting the OG materials and colorways that made them so sought after. The sneakers have been updated, however, now featuring a new lace jewel and insole with commemorative “30 years of Torsion” branding.
adidas is showcasing the OG ZX range through imagery that closely mimics the brand’s memorable “I want, I can” campaign from the ’80s. The ZX 5000 are available now, the ZX 6000 are releasing August 17, the ZX 7000 August 24, and the ZX 9000 August 31.
