Ninties revivalism has gripped the world in its aesthetic clutches, and adidas Originals is no exception. The sportswear giant has just announced the return of a classic silhouette for the summer: the terrace casuals’ favorite Gazelle, in a trio of colorways it has bunched together as a “Vintage Suede” pack.
adidas has faithfully recreated an early ‘90s version of the Gazelle down to the smallest of details. The sneaker sports a vintage suede upper, an off-white rubber sole, and the iconic three stripes serrated in leather. The colorway options are understated shades of navy blue, forest green and grey.
The Gazelle was wildly popular in the UK back in the heyday of the terrace casuals movement, appearing in stadiums around the globe and on the feet of many a style-savvy football hooligan (not that we, or adidas Originals, are endorsing that sort of behaviour).
Stay tuned for the Gazelle Vintage Suede Pack to drop next Friday, June 3 at select adidas accounts worldwide.
