While the clear draw from today's Apple Keynote was the official unveil iPhone X, as expected, the company will also soon be rolling out another smartphone with the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 in turn features a number of the same specs as the iPhone X.

First off, Apple's iPhone 8 features a new (water and dust-resistant) glass and aluminum design, optioned in three colors of space gray, silver and gold, made from the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. The seven-layer color process then delivers a rich depth of color with a color-matched aerospace-grade aluminum bezel.

4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina HD displays have been paired with True Tone to adjust the white balance of the display to match the surrounding light. The phone's redesigned stereo speakers are in turn 25 percent louder and deliver noticeably deeper bass.

The most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone, the A11 Bionic, delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics performance than the previous generation, enabling new machine learning, AR apps and immersive 3D games.

An improved 12-megapixel camera with a larger and faster sensor now welcomes a new Apple-designed image signal processor delivering advanced pixel processing, wide color capture, faster autofocus in low light and better HDR photos. You can also capture 4K video up to 60fps and 1080p slo-mo up to 240fps. In addition, the cameras on iPhone 8 Plus are custom tuned for the ultimate AR experience.

Just like the iPhone X, charging for iPhone 8 is now wireless thanks to new wireless charging mats from Belkin and mophie. Simply rest the iPhone on the pad and juice up. You can also charge your Apple Watch Series 3 and AirPods simultaneously.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in space gray, silver and an all-new gold finish in 64GB and 256GB models starting at $699 USD. Pre-orders begin September 15, with a rollout taking place a week later on the 22nd.
